It’s all in the details!

The quality of our range of outfits is so important to us, and we are very proud of the fleet we have put together so far.

We’ve been working hard to put together our kids outfits so that they can match our adult outfits as much as possible. We now have a choice of three coloured jackets to compliment our exsiting tartans. As well as wee matching tartan ties and matching leather day sporrans. We can help make sure they start the day looking fantastic, the end of the day…well thats a different story.

Our hire fleet is wee but perfectly formed (so we like to think!). We started with only 3 tartans for hire, we now have 6. All with their own complimenting jackets, waistcoats and accessories. We recently chose to add the Black Watch Weathered tartan (pictured below) and a Clunie Moss jacket to our hire which has proven popular and dose look fantastic with our existing tartans.

We do enjoy working on all the small details that make your outfit individual to you. We have added a few new styles of sporran which are now available as a choice with your hire, but if you would be interested in retail options please let us know, we’d be happy to help.

First things first …

Pick your tartan. If you know which tartan you want or even if you have a rough idea, thats a good start. There are thousands of different tartans and tweeds to choose from so take your time and do a little resarch. Some people like to look into family or clan tartans and some people like to base their decision on the colours they like. It’s entirely up to you.

The next step is to pick the cloth for your jacket and waistcoat. If you’re set on the tartan you want for your kilt then the choice of cloth to pair it with will usually fall right into place. And of course we are always here to help with this process as it can feel like a big decision, your kilt can be with you for the rest of your life and even become an heirloom to pass down through generation. Aye so nae pressure eh!

The next step…

Your sporran. Now deciding what design to go with for your sporran can take a bit of thought and will totally depend on the final look you want to achieve. We do have a few designs in the studio to show you so you can get a feel for the look you like. Day sporrans tend to be a little less formal and more relaxed and dress sporrans can be a bit more of a statment. There’s certainly more elements to think of when designing a dress sporran, which pelt, style and shape of cantle and bells, you can even pick the colour of the interior.

We are always happy to help with these decisions and try and make the process as pain free as possible…honest!

Finishing touches..

Finally it’s time to pick your accessories. All of these finishing touches can really pull the outfit together and complete the look. Usually by this stage we will have a good idea of the look and style that you want to achieve and will be able to make suggestions on the accessories that will compliment your outfit perfectly.

Accessories to think about at his stage would be your Tie and flashes, you can have them in tartan matching your kilt or in a plain colour to compliment your Kilt. Then it would be socks and shoes, sgian dubh, kilt pin and cuff links, if you wanted them.

It can seem a bit overwhelming but we are here to help you every step of the way. You are welcome to make an appointment for an informal chat with us before you commit to any purchase.
